Train Service Updates

See if there is any service disruption on the Southern network, check live departures and arrivals from any station or find out about any alternative routes during unplanned disruption.

The fault with the signalling system at Bexhill has reoccurred. As a result, trains must run at a reduced speed on the line towards Eastbourne. Trains through Bexhill will be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 12:00.
Customer advice:
Southern services through the Bexhill area will be delayed by around 20 minutes, mainly when heading towards Eastbourne.
You can still use your normal route, but it is likely that you will need to wait longer for a train in this area. If you are making a connection between trains, please also be aware this may take longer than usual, due to the delays.
To limit congestion as much as possible, most trains which usually run between Brighton and Ore will only run between Brighton and Eastbourne, in both directions. This means there will be a reduced service at stations between Eastbourne, Hastings and Ore.
It's expected that trains will run along the whole of the routes between London Victoria and Hastings / Ore, and also between Eastbourne and Ashford International. However, some late-running services may be revised, and may not stop at all the usual stations en route. Please listen to announcements and check station screens when travelling.
Tickets will be accepted for no extra cost on the following alternatives:
- Southern services on any reasonable route including via Haywards Heath and Brighton
- Stagecoach buses on the following routes:
  - 511, 511a & 511b between Ashford International and Ham Street
  - 101, 100 between Rye and Hastings

Can you tell me more about the incident?
This part of the network uses axle counters to detect trains by tracking their wheels. If they fail, the system may think a train is still there, preventing others from moving forward.
Drivers must stop at red signals and get verbal permission to proceed at a reduced speed, which can cause significant delays.
Network Rail are investigating, but this is a complex electronic fault, and unfortunately it could not be fixed yesterday daytime or overnight. Work will continue today.

Engineering work is taking place between Haywards Heath and Brighton, closing some lines overnight on Monday to Wednesday evenings.

The 23:25 London Victoria to Brighton service will be diverted between Haywards Heath and Brighton to run via Lewes not calling at Burgess Hill and Hassocks.

A rail replacement bus will operate from Haywards Heath at 00:26 to Brighton, calling at Burgess Hill and Hassocks.

The 00:02 London Victoria to Worthing / Eastbourne service will terminate at Three Bridges.

Rail replacement buses will operate from:

Three Bridges at 00:58 to Brighton / Worthing
Brighton at 02:08 to Worthing
Three Bridges at 00:59 to Lewes
Lewes at 02:04 to Eastbourne

Horsham Facilities: Various changes

At Horsham station, the following issues have been reported:
Step free access will be unavailable throughout the station from now until 12:00.
The lifts will be out of order from now until 12:00.

Selhurst: Toilets out of order

All toilets on platform 1 are out of order at Selhurst station.
Watford Junction: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order between platforms 7 & 8 and subway from 14:30 on 02/02/2026 until further notice at Watford Junction station.
